I bought this Camera some 10 months ago after lenghtly research. So" I had plenty of practice with it.
It's features and quality are good enough to accommodate my use easily enough. I am not in to giant Poster Commercial work e.t.c. You might want to consider a full frame Camera for such work. Never the less; This Camera can produce quiet large superb quality images. On of the features that I do like is to be able to allocate some functions to certain buttons e.t.c
Everyone has a nitch in where they would like certain functions that are most handy to the individual. Great work Nikon! Not so great from Nikon is to have added Video function. Something I paid for and as a Pro will NEVER use. I think if one wants to capture good quality Video images I would suggest to purchase a Video Camera for that purpose as they are more designed for that purpose and will give you better quality. Nikon Video quality does not cut it in my opinion. Just an add on gimmick that was not needed. The distance of one Battery was amazing. It caters for my whole Wedding session of some 600 = images. Yest" There was still more than half of Battery life left. Still" Always take a spare one.
I do appreciate that this Camera is not as heavy and bulky as some other Models are. For larger Hands such as mine I would not want the Camera to be any smaller in size either. ISO, speed, built, quality, manual function abilityies are all up there with the pro models just for a much better price range. Pick your own specific Lenses for your Pro work and away you go!! No need to buy an expensive Canon to provide the performance that this one easily dishes out for me. I recommend this to many Pros out there.
Problems:
Unfortunatily Lense mounting on such Camearas has a twisting motion towars the left when mounting and removing it with your left Hand. It would be ergonomically better to have had a twisting motion towards the right. This is a more natural movement.
It takes a little getting used to finding some things when browsing through your menue, but this is no big issue.
There had been occasions where my manual setting on aparture or speed had changed due to some how accidently having made contact with the dial. Not sure how this can be overcome?
