an amazing camera.For sure.
I do have the G7 and compared to the G11,G7 10 MP and now G11 10 MP.
There is an day and night diference.
The G7 was the best compact a year of three ago,and while I look to the images now,the G11 is simple stunning.
Expecial when you compare to the G7.
Three's and foliage is way sharper and have better resolution.
It is still no match to the nikon D5000 from an image point.however you have to look verry close to see the diference viewing at100% or more.
The controls are also alot better,and the tinny viewfinder,while not great,is finalee calibrated,so you can take pictures with it,and see less or more wat you are doing,afcours at 77% coverage there wil be more on the picture then wat you see.but still it is usable.while G7 was not usable.
higher iso is finalee abit better,good usable to iso 400
even iso 800 is usable with an little work (noise reduction) and abit extra sharpnes pictures still look good.and prints are exelent,however iso 1600 produce to mush noise for my taste,however taking pictures in raw,is abit better ,becouse you can process the pictures to your liking.
I also have the LX3 while this camera produce also exelent pictures,and the camera is poketable,abouve iso 200 it is over with the fun.
noise reduction and detail loss forever.
But keep in mind the LX3 do have an F2 lens,canon G11 F2.8 lens
so while you shoot at iso 800 with G11 you get away with iso 400 on the LX3
But in al respect the G11 is an exelent performer.
