Fairly good camera for the money, and a wonderful long zoom, but I think they've tried to jam too many pixels on that size sensor -- more pixels doesn't mean better photos. Many of my shots are "mushy" from aggressive noise reduction. I've decided to take it back and I've bought the SX10IS which as I understand is the same camera but with fewer pixels and higher image quality. We'll see.

It IS an improvement over my Kodak Z980 which is also a decent camera, but suffers from even more image mushiness, purple fringing and soft images than the SX20IS.

Problems:

The lens cap isn't tethered to the camera so keeping up with it is a pain. I plan to attach a tether to the cap when my SX10IS arrives.

I notice when reviewing photos if I push the review button it doesn't return to shoot mode but rather powers down. That's strange.
