EXR dynamic range mode is great for outdoor photos. The fancier high-ISO modes (eg pro low light) produce impressive results, but an auto shot that uses 800 or above is quite grainy. That seems to be the payoff for the long zoom. Build quality is excellent although the battery/SD card cover jammed briefly. It's freed up again now though. Haven't taken many shots with flash so can't comment on that.
Update - battery/card cover now jammed completely. Have sent it back to Fujifilm for repair.
Problems:
The zoom operates much too quickly! So it's hard to compose mid-range photos quickly.
