My Canon 5D classic's screen has been messed up for a while and this camera cost not much more than the repair cost of my 5D. Man was I surprised when I saw the photos coming from this sucker. I sold my 5D the next evening and I'm selling off my Canon EOS glass and replacing it with classic glass from various manufacturers. The focus peaking is very handy. There's an EVF and phase detect lens adapter that are ready and waiting to grow with your needs. Buy as much camera as you need and you're not throwing money into features you may not be using.

You can mount practically anything on this camera. M mount. M39. Contax C/Y. Old nikon. Anything. There's so much good glass out there waiting to be used.

It also takes unbelievably sharp photos and the sensor performs well with symmetrical, rangefinder lenses. The voigtlander 21mm I got for it is quite sharp at the corner regions. The kit lens is surprisingly good.

If you're getting your first "serious" camera then look no further. Nothing beats this camera in the price/performance category. Huge value. If you're an enthusiast this camera will keep you very happy with all the old lenses that can be mounted on it for loads of fun. If you're a professional you'll be completely stumped at how something so cheap can give such excellent video and photo performance and might begin to doubt some of your current, much more expensive gear.

Lots of people are hyped up about the Nex-7 but I think this should be the camera of the year because of the sheer value it provides. I'm very impressed with this camera.

Problems:

no hotshoe. poor kit flash. poor in camera sound. no microphone port.
