Purchased because even though I own a couple of DSLRs I constantly found the adage "The best camera you own is the one you carry" coming back to haunt me. The GX1 is a solid little number that is small enough to fit in a bag effortlessly and solid enough to not require a case when you do so.
Coupled with a f1.7 20mm prime lens this is a highly responsive camera that can get a first (auto-focused) shot of in around a second.
It's simply superlative at low light compared to other small form cameras I've tried (admittedly a couple of years ago) and in the week that I've owned it the performance of the camera has prevented any post-purchase regret sinking in. I loved it from the first moment and love it more today.
It's a delight to use, and if you're fond of rangefinders then you'll love the styling too.
Were I to be highly critical of anything I'd say that the menu system feels less polished than the build and performance, but this would be nit-picking of the highest order.
