I've used the DSC-W350 for a year and it is a really great camera. 14.1 megapixels give you sharp images like portraits and landscapes in good conditions. It's small and lightweight, is very nicely designed, and has an easy menu for adjusting while in manual mode. It is surprisingly good at macro for it's price range, and is better than many other compacts that I have come across. Very good for a first camera, it will get you interested into photography. Also not bad as a backup. Since it is a compact, though, noise is visible at around 1600 ISO but good in 800, so it is not built for low light. Unless your subject is light itself. Also has good color when set to right exposure for sunsets and such. Some very minor focus and ISO problems, as expected by a little camera, but all is well.

Problems:

The flash is pretty much useless. Images not too sharp when zoomed into close objects. Not for extreme low light. Focus sometimes may not focus where you want it to, but you can find a way around it by focusing on another subject equidistant from what you want to shoot.
