A suitable lens for portrait and wild life photography, good zooming.

Problems:

its weight, and size, some times barrel stuck after releasing macro switch.

Now that this lens has been discontinued, I hope Sigma makes a 70-300mm f4-5.6 OS HSM C soon. That would be AWESOME! I'm in the market for a 70-300 now, and I can only buy Sigma, since I shoot with a Sigma SD14 camera. I will probably end up with one of these used, if they don't hurry up and get a replacement for this lens built and on the market. I found this lens used for $179, so maybe I'll just pull the trigger and get that one. I would like a better lens though. I'm sure the C model would be significantly better, and I'd be willing to pay $200 or even $300 more for the new lens (so I could use the USB dock to "tune" it and stuff like that).
