New G2 Reef Gallery

I just updated my gallery with some new reef images.

Hi, Jack,

Those are so beautiful. Thanks for posting.

If I were to make one small suggestion it would be to clone out the bottom right bit of Acropora. Your tridacna is hypnotic and "Say hello" is really wonderful.

Cheers,

Don

Thanks for the tip. I gotta learn to use the clone tool first. It's the rubber stamp, right?

Right... and this is the perfect picture. The item is isolated and you'll simply rubber-stamp black over it. You could probably use a black paintbrush to accomplish the same thing but you'll sometimes be surprised to find that your background isn't really true black, so I usually recommend the rubber-stamp tool.

Good luck.

Some beautiful shots. The credits say they were done with the G2 ? Really ? WOW. So can I assume there is a case available for the G2 for underwater shooting ?

A friend of mine dives and is looking for a digital underwater camera. I'm excited about getting the G3 for myself (even more so after seeing your pictures), so now I am wondering if the G3 is something my diving friend should be considering. Any information here would be helpful.

Hello!

I think he shot it from outside his aquarium.

But yes! there is an underwater camera housing from ikelite. I don't have the link right now but you can check out their site.

Happy Diving!

I shot these from the comfort of my own home right outside my aquarium. The G2 is a great camera. I've even pre-ordered the G3 because of it.

How about posting a pic of the "whole" aquarium. I currently have a 75 gal. reef and am wanting to downsize to a 15 or 20 gal. Would like to see how "crowded" your 15 is.

Also, what kind of lights and filtration?

I'll post a pic of the whole thing when I get one.

It's been running for about 6 months and I have still not fully stocked it. I run 64W of PC (32W 10k and 32W actinic) with a small refugium and a 3" sand bed. I have only about 15# of LR.

It's not too crowded but it's kinda hard to stock it. I have the maroon clown and just got a pseudochromis. I usually buy small coral frags instead of larger pieces.
