Hi All,

I have recently bought a Canon D60, although I am very happy with the camera, in the mean time I am also very frustrated by the fact that Canon still can't provide Mac users a decent Mac OS X workflow solution.

For this reason, in the past two weeks I was able to locate the source code of the FreeBSD crw utility and I have spent some time this week to create a GUI interface for it using AppleScript Studio. Right now the app is almost done, the initial performance testings shows very positive results.

To run this app you will need to have Mac OS X 10.2. I plan to to release it as freeware once I have done some more QA. If you are interested in helping me to test it, please send me email at: bryanchang (at) mac.com.

I'm running 10.2 and would be interested.

Seems you beat me to it!

Just a couple of questions:

Are you planning to add 1D capability?
How fast is it?
This is a just a quick little hack, I believe your app will be even better! :-)

As I said in the first post, this is just a wrapper for the crw tool, so it doesn't really do anything more than whatever crw can do, at least for version 1.0. ;-)

let me know if you have questions.

For some reason .Mac file sharing wants to "help" me to compress the StuffIt file again, so once you download the file please use StuffIt to extract it again.

Hi,

Just one bit of feedback--since this doesn't represent or interface w/ a device, the HI guidelines say you shouldn't use metal.

Oh no! not the UI police!! :-)

Personally I think the Aqua UI guidelines is very confusing. For example the Address Book & Sherlock in Mac OS X 10.2 both don't have anything with any devices, while they both has the metal look.

I'm interested, I'm running 10.2.1, thanks.

The address book is meant to represent a physical address book, and with Sherlock...well, yeah :)

I would be interested in beta testing for you, though, esp since I had looked into porting this code to X and putting a Cocoa front-end on it at one point!
