D7000 First Impressions

Please don't generalize. Sometimes it is the camera. I had a d7000 and now I have a d600. Even though the modules are the same, the d600 is precise. The d7000 was not dependable.
Actually, the modules are not the same, there are very similar though. The D7000 is very dependable (you yourself generalized when you said it was not) , but there can certainly be exceptions out there. Very important to be able to figure out the cause of the exceptions. Can be anything from a hardware malfunction to a senior moment. Even the D600 had had some growing pains of all types. Nothing wrong with having a different experience. Anyone will be well served with any modern DSLR.

I was not generalizing. What I meant to say was that MY d7000 was not precise. I agree that the af module in the d600 is vastly superior, but it still goes by the same name. Maybe the improvement is due to processing power, but in my case, even single point af is much better.

Actually the names are different 4800DX and 4800FX. One has lower light capability and perhaps different processor/software as well. Hard to tell. Would be very interesting if someone would map the 4800FX arrays to see if they differ from the 4800DX. Anxious to see what the D7K/D300 update will hold. Should be interesting.
