Took my NEX-6 and ZA 24/1.8 for a walkabout today. I'm extremely happy with the performance of this lens (and with the NEX-6 too!) in terms of sharpness, clarity, color and bokeh. I can't wait to travel with this combo, not to mention do some model shoots/environmental portraits with it while travelling.

Here are some pics, as usual I welcome all comments.

You have some wonderful work here. By the way, the Zeiss 24 1.8 is rapidly becoming my favorite NEX lens.

Very nice pictures. Looks like great combo. I also have Nex 6 and have not really considered 24 1.8, but now I thinking about getting it. Thank you for posting

Lovely pics. I envy your Zeiss. I was thinking about getting it at first but went for Sel18200 instead and now dont have funds for Zeiss :-( . Wondering if getting the 18-200 over Zeiss was a good decision.

Yes Jose, lovely work!

they both have the purpose - I thought that I am going to use 18-200 90% of time - turned out I am using my CZ 24mm 1.8 95% of time, and all my other lenses combined the other 15 %

In addition to CZ24mm I have 16mmm + both converters, 30mm macro, 50mm + 1.8, 18-200mm, 55-210mm plus bunch of russian, CV ColorSkopar 35mm

Zeiss is special, though I have high hopes for the upcoming 35 1.8 with its Optical stabilization, and I like a bit tighter than 36mm.

Realy wonderful images, the NEX 6 seems to be following the NEX 7, I have not seen many NEX 6 images online, as it is fairly new, but the NEX7 has me converted.

Good to see the 6 is following it in image quality.

Great eye and excellent photographic skills too obviously.

GREAT images!!!!

Thanks Dinesh. Super zoom lenses have their uses particularly for travelling since you don't have to change lenses. However, I prefer to travel with just the Zeiss 24/1.8 if I had to pick just one lens. It can take landscape pics and it is awesome for environmental portraits.

Best regards,

José

I wish so much that I could afford that lens right now. No other lens consistently produces such nice results, IMO.

All-in-one lens, that's what I thought before buying 18-200 but everytime I'm using it I try to go back to SEL50f18 beacuse of its lovely IQ. To be honest, I haven't given fair chance to 18-200 yet, I have been shooting in the cloudy and little less light where 50mm is clearly outperforming 18-200 (I know I shouldn't be comparing Zoom and Prime but cant help myself). I'm waiting for good sunlight to shoot with 18-200 and a really good discount on Zeiss :-P . Best of luck with your setup. Lovely images specially 1st and 6th.

Thanks again. Good luck with finding a good discount on Zeiss. My experience with high-end optics (Canon L lenses) is that occasionally they go on sale but there is always the used market.

Agree with the SEL 50/1.8, it's a solid performer at a good price.
