You asked about prices. Let's say that the prices I received were as good o2 better than anything I found on the web from reputable firms and even not so reputable firms.

Yes, the 1D was at the alluded to price in one of the follow-ups.

Lens prices were very good as well. Not the best anywhere but still lower than Canoga's own web pricing.

My goal was to deal with folks who will be there after the sale, know the business and the art, and will help later with support and other purchases.

On camera price I found only one dealer anywhere with a lower price but, they were known for separating accessories from the the kit contents.

Lens prices were within 2% of the lowest price I found anywhere.

If you knew anything about me you would know that research of even the mundane is a hobby of mine. Therefore, I would recommend Canoga on price and support. Greg Noble is the guy I dealt with and if you spend any time on the forums here you will not have heard of him for the first time by me.

Sorry if this sounds ad-like but, you asked prices and while I don't think it appropriate to post all the prices here (because they are available on the internet already) I do think people should know about good folks supplying our hobby.

I have now climbed off my soapbox. Part of it is adreniline from my soon to be arriving presents.

Good luck with the gear you certainly will have a great system! Re my price request, I was simply asking because I agree with you totally that the "good guys" should be supported whenever possible and many times this means paying somewhat if just slightly more than through a sleazy joint. This always factors heavily into my buying decisions. My thought was to simply get an idea as to the discount available from them without wasting their time on just a quote, knowing full well I am not going to purchase just yet.

Wow, it sounds like you got your shopping done early this year. Congratulations. I used a 16-35 a few months ago -- WOW is all I can say. And, of course, the 1D won't disappoint you.
