If you haven't seen, the Rokinon 8mm f/2.8 fisheye lens, they have it in NX mount. This is the new very compact Samyang 8mm f/2.8, not the older SLR version that is 8mm f/3.5 and significantly larger (but might avoid the color cast at the corners).

I am seeing magenta corners/sides on my NX20 as they show up on the NEX 7 as well. Might have to use corner fix to correct that, and one side on mine is worse than the other so it might be a slight alignment issue too.

The lens looks sharp, will show some samples a bit later when I get a chance to take some.

I Am really looking forward to your samples with this.
Would you mind doing a little "write up/review" about the handling, as well?
...any thoughts are greatly appreciated. :)

Will try for this weekend for shots, all cloudy and overcast here right now. Not great weather for fisheyes. I also need to download corner fix and figure out how to use it :)

I tried the lens on the NX11 and the corners have almost no magenta cast vs severe on the NX20. This is exactly as I expected based on corner performance from the 16 mm f/2.4 on the NX11 vs NX20. At infinity focus the NX11 is better in the corners despite its lower resolution. At closer focus the NX20 has no issue, I imagine since the lens is a bit further away from the sensor.

What we are seeing is the same as NEX 5n vs NEX 7. The smaller pixel size must have micro lenses which are not as sensitive to light hitting the sensor at steeper angles (like near the edge of the frame from a fisheye or ultra wide).

I only hope the 12-24mm is designed with the NX20 in mind, or it might be another case of a lens that performs better on the old sensor. At least in the case of Sony they still offer the lower MP sensor which performs better in terms of corner performance than their 24 MP sensor.

I will update with photos later and some crops when I have them.

hi same lens with samples here :

Thanks, that is exactly what I see too :) That is too bad both the NX20 and NEX 7 have that issue with the sensor with certain lenses.

3 more samples shot with my nx10 and this lens :

If you use rawtherapee at all you can use the flat field correction to fix this. I also believe this is partly caused by the IR filter and its sensitivity to oblique angles

Nothing particularly interesting, but got some sample shots. Even at f/2.8 the lens is sharp across the field. Really amazing. That being said, fisheyes are generally sharp since they aren't corrected for a flat field :) I have both corner fixed versions and normal versions so you can see the strong purple hue. It looked worse in Lightroom on my computer. My corner fix profile might over-correct just a bit, it is available here on my blog:
