I sent this to DPR Feedback. I was going to dea with this in private with:

aman74 as I have no need to embarrass him but this is of such importance that I feel it should be posted. I assume by one time he does not mean in a life-time but in relation to a specific post:

Is it acceptable to announce on a Camera/Lens Forum that you have something on the For Sale forum (without getting specific (i.e. I have equipment for sale on the For Sale forum).

Also, 3 times I have suggested an underwater forum but have never heard from you. Why don't you just create one. I will volunteer to help out/moderate etc.

I would appreciate even an itsy bitsy teeny weeny response.

I got this back from Simon Joinson:

yes you can link to a for sale post once in another forum.

yes we got your request for an underwater forum and are considering it.
Thx
Simon

Lol, that's like saying "no offense, but you're ugly". Why bother with the qualifier? You wanted to make spectacle so at least be proud of it.

You spammed the 15-30 twice though. Also, why the double-post, or did you just feel the need to bump the thread?

Anyways, thanks for finding out that we are indeed allowed to spam the forums. Considering the way the forum and site is run in general here I guess the fact that their rules on this matter are in direct opposition to any forum I've been on makes sense.

You might want to send them another email and ask if it's ok to start new threads calling out other forum members. I'm pretty sure that's against the rules, but ya never know. If you just wanted to inform the forum of the rule for our information, that's what you would have done. Once again your actions are showing your personality quite transparently. I'm not embarrassed one bit, but you sure should be.

Aman74, please focus your energy into taking some photos!

Hmmm, could I not say the same to you? You decided to come in here and take the time to post a dismissive comment when someone's clearly being inappropriate instead of taking pictures yourself. Do you feel it's ok to post a new thread directly calling out other members? Do you think it mature? If not, why would you then waste your time chiming in? If you're going to say something I'd think it would be to the OP.

Why did you not say the same to the OP? I guess this forum is like a "click" in the schoolyard, mob mentality around here. I'll never understand the hypocrisy of some folks. I was apparently wrong about the spamming rules around here, so be it. Does that mean I should put up with all this other negative behavior?

The reply that Rick got from Simon Joinson didn't mention anything about spam being allowed, did it ?

As for personal attacks.........people who live in glass houses should not throw stones !

So duck-off & take some pix & when you get a Sigma cam we'll love to see 'em, see ya.

1. OP is certainly being childish by bringing up names. Tenis is certainly a good excuse.

2. A post clarifying forums rules or arguing against forum rules is perfectly reasonable.

3. Business advertising should not be allowed, but given the scarcity of foveon related equipment, I'd imagine most readers welcome notifications here instead of searching for 1 in 10000 used listing posts.

4. It is clickish here, and you only give it power by seeming to be upset that you are not part of it ;)

Just my $.02 + $999999.98

Agree 1-3. As for four, I certainly don't wish to be a part of the negative aspects that entails. You're right, it may embolden some people, but the more enlightened ones may actually ponder what I'm saying instead of becoming defensive. So, if it reaches someone it's worth it. It also let's others who may be like-minded know they aren't the only ones and it is indeed ok to speak up against the status-quo when seen fit.

Let it go. I think you will find most posters here are quite friendly and respectful, many of whom continue to be, even when being attacked.

I think, I believe, it is my opinion that these phrases are endangered.

Let it go.
Was just commenting on your comment as I don't believe pointing out a certain behavior only serves to empower it. I feel that's valid.

Not sure in what context you mean that.
You were wrong in this post of yours

I'm glad Rick clarified with DPReview and posted.

Now I too suggest you "let it go." An apology to Rick about the "ego" comments and other comments might even be in line. IMHO.

Best regards, Sandy

Yes, I was wrong, that's what the OP is about now isn't it? I already admitted as such and don't see what reason you could have for pointing it out again and providing a link, other than to pile one.

You want me to apologize after having an inappropriate thread started about me? Very odd.

Do you people realize how hypocritical it is to chime in with your 2 cents and then in the same breath tell someone to let it go? I've only continued the discussion further as people feel the need to chime in. I guess I'm just supposed to let people walk all over me...sorry, not my style. I'm glad to admit to being wrong and I already did, but don't expect me to just shut up when people continue on.

-2 ;)

I got your back bro. Sandy was out of line. She tends to pile on and such.

I think Col just wants everyone to shutup and get back to pictures or making love.

Seemed the post linked nearly had some good intentions .. too disrespectful and too bossy though man. Don't speak for others.

Brand new thread singling you out? This is the behavior of a bully ... from a grown man. I don't like bullies.

I'd rather watch you 2 make out though, but then maybe you should do that in private.

+1

You have encouraged me sir. There is still time. I'm off to find a beer and a broad!
Adios Mujeres!

oh ... and take some pictures

I just love watching people trying to make mountains out of molehills.
