.... asked about the 70~200mm AF-S VR - end November price in Euro to be confirmed at Photokina but will be keen.

This guy was also the first Nikon guy I ever spoke to who knew the rumours --- his reply was that he was aware of the D2 rumours and speck but that there is no official announcement yet.

Now one really had to be looking at this guy when he said this.

---- as posted somewhere else that French magazine state that Nikon will not announce anything professional this year.

I see a possible problem with the full frame CCD – the solutions are not really great.

See the Q&As for the Kodak release to see their solutions and why they don’t like the CCD full frame route. I also believe it is the problem that brought Pentax down and the same one that afflicts Contax – but I don’t actually know – I’m only beginning to understand the difficulties.

Power and heat are a challenge with large CCDs. Worse case, I guess Nikon could buy CMOS sensors from Kodak.

I'd rather have a 6mp D2H that can shoot 8fps for 30-40 NEF frames that keeps the same CCD size anyway.
