Which Digital SLR?

Hi,

After a long hiatus, my interest in photography has been revived again after a recent road trip in which I brought along a rental Canon D-30. Suddenly my digital point-and-shoot compact doesn't seem to suffice anymore

I am (or rather, was) a mid-level amateur in terms of photography skills and experiences and I'm trying to decide on either a Canon D-60 or a Nikon D-100, and I'd loved to hear opinions and recommendations from users who have experiences with both.
