Ordered OM-D Yesterday - It is Already Shipping

I ordered the same kit for my wife, (though I may have to confiscate it) from B&H April 18 and no word on shipping yet. Happy shooting

I ordered mine on the 5th of March and the dealer already delayed the delivery twice. Last notification is that they are expecting a delivery for the end of June, but this is not even sure !

I never quite understand how retailers figure the order of shipping.
I was getting frustrated that the OM-d was always backordered. Then suddenly the web site said available for shipment on June 20...Holly cow, I thought...that's a shocker. I went ahead and placed the order immediately, and got confirmation of the order.
Good thing, because within 15 minutes I noticed the Amazon site again said it was Temporarily Not In Stock. I guess it must have been available for 15 to 30 minutes before they ran out.
Then they send me an email saying they will be able to ship sooner -- like the 18th. Then they send me a follow up an hour later saying it has already shipped. All music to my ears.

I saw that last night and decided to hold off for the body-only order I had already placed elsewhere since I have no interest whatsoever in the lens, but I have a feeling I'll live to regret that decision.

I wanted the 12-50mm lens. I'm thinking that with the OM-D and this lens I can take the camera out when it is drizzling, or even if it isn't raining but there is a threat of rain. I'm assuming the camera is able to handle that.

I contacted several stores and just told them to let me know when they had something available. Not really trusting that I called once in a while and kept an eye on in-stock messages on their websites. I snatched one from the first store that had one (and in fact had a choice between stores, but one had silver and the other had black so I went for the silver).

Pulled the trigger Wednesday, from in-state dealer, arrived by ups within 24hrs! While this was fast, the OM-D is a lot faster! While my wife will enjoy it, I find the size and grip a bit small. My comfort is with the E-1 and E-3.
