E-7 First Sneak Peak Image

Certainly, that would be a brave move. Hopefully with a much larger display than the original one. Maybe also with a bigger hump, making space for the larger optical viewfinder from E-3/E-5.

But the E-1/E-3/E-5 maybe are too expensive to build and sell. The cheapest route would be to reuse the E-M5 bits and mount the E-3/E-5 optical viewfinder and LCD.

You tried really hard to squeeze 7 as there is not much space left as it was designed to fit "1"..... good try though.. ;)

I wish Oly launch E-7 in E-1 body... then I will be the first one to grab it. :)

Don't be so hard on him. The IS cut and paste is really nice!

Olympus E-1 and E-30 and a bunch of stuff to hang on it.

That would make me a very happy-chappie! :)

Remember that 2013 marks the E1s 10th anniversary... knowing how Oly likes to look to their past for inspiration they might just do it!

Don't like it. Too small. I'll keep my brick e-5 lol

Ooh wow, I had no idea that it would look like that when I clicked on the thread! ;)

looks out window - blimey, I see a pig flying past my house!! :O

Odd looking but never held one, can't imagine ever holding a camera that feels as good in my hands as the E3/E5 does.

Sorry Fred -

A friend of a friend of mine has a real pre-production E-7 for testing . . . . my apologies for the photo but its a bootleg of a bootleg.

Sure does have the classic Olympus look to it, though, and that's apparently one of the new series of fast primes on it:

Heck just about everybody who has handled an E-1 agrees that the E-1 is the most ergonomically perfect camera. That's even coming from E-3 and E-5 owners. From the off-set eye-piece to the way the body fits into one's hands to the smooth shutter sound...everything is just about 100% perfect.

they ever had in their hands.

I have small hands and find that for E-1 one should have a longer right thumb than mine to comfortably reach the rear wheel while the rest of the fingers rest where they are supposed to.

Yes, it is the off-set lens that really makes it so good to work with.

But dream on - to modernize the E-1 body one has to fit in a very much larger LCD screen on the back (it's nearly useless the existing one), and then I'm afraid most of the E-1 design consept falls to pieces.

LOL LOL LOL I hope if released (which I think it will be) I hope O calls it the E-6, or E-Pro, just to throw a huge wrench into all this craaaazy lemmings-over-the-cliff-like speculation.

"if it's predecessors are 1 and 3 and 5, well 2 more equals 7, eh Ned?" LOL!

Keep at it guys, you're more entertaining than Madonna's right nipple ;)
