The E-M5 has a new (to me) Art Filter called the "Key Line" filter.

I know these filters are gimmicky, but I quite like these two pictures I got today using it.

Both straight out of camera jpgs. The bigger you look at them, the better the effect works.

That is an interesting look. When zoomed to full size it looks like a painting rather than a photograph.

Your second image is the first key-line I've seen that really seems to show what the filter is capable of.

And I think that this one feature would have saved Richard Linklater a whole lot of work in post ;-).

interesting. thanks.

After yesterday's fun with art filters I went out again today deliberately looking for subjects that would benefit from art filters.

First up is a site where one can see "Nike" missiles from the 50's/60's/70's -- nuclear tipped ground-to-air missiles.

Once again the key-line filter II was terrific. Please make the image as big as possible.

But for this subject I also enjoyed the dramatic tone filter.

and pinhole filter III which gave the image a vintage look.

Finally, Grainy B&W suited these subjects too, along with a shadow self-portrait.

Next I tried various filters on some surfers, and the Key Line filter worked out the best for these very painterly pictures.

Please look at these as large as possible.

Finally Dramatic Tone II (the B&W version of Dramatic Tone) certainly added drama to this image of kids playing on the beach.

Thanks for looking!

I had a lot of fun playing with the art filters the other night. I know they are a bit gimmicky, but it's great to have them :).

One thing that always puzzled me though. Instagram did pretty much the same thing in offering people quick solutions to arty pictures, and they are labelled a roaring success. Olympus do it and it's tacky and a waste of time. Never understood that.

Thanks Vjim

They look like some kind of painting style

I love that filter. Love the art you have created!

I'm not a fan of that type of filter, but I have to admit that on the second picture it works particularly well.
