With all the hoopla about the EM5, I felt it was a good time to pick up a new GH2 for half the price. Only all the good GH2 "how to get the most from it" threads are buried in the distant past. Anyone have a few links to some insiteful thread with some good does and don'ts, nice setting and useful tricks. Anything greatly appreciated.

There are at least two GH2 topics listed in the Most Bookmarked topics on this forum, to start with. Select the link to this Forum where all topics are listed. On the lower right somewhere should be the Most Bookmarked Topics list.

I do not know how DPR's new (beta) revamping of it heretofore absolutely lame and quite useless "Search" functionality, but know that Google has been light-years ahead by comparison every time (able to find posts with search-text within hours of it's posting). Using this Google search-string:

site:forums.dpreview.com "DPReview" and "GH2" and "xxx" and "yyy" and "zzz"

... serves me very well - and I often use it (with remembered keyword(s) in mind) to quickly locate any/all previous posts/threads on any/all DPReview forums. Trick is to guess the right "keywords".

site:forums.dpreview.com "DPReview" and "GH2" and "xxx" and "yyy" and "zzz"
... is unecessarily redundant. Thus:

site:forums.dpreview.com "GH2" and "xxx" and "yyy" and "zzz"

... where the "and" statements need not be included - but any Boolean "OR" statements must be included in the string, and must be capitalized. "OR" statements are evaluated prior to "AND"s ...

I was going to start a thread about how boring this forum had become. Its as if there are no more 4/3 cameras other than the EM5.

But the "object of affection/lust" is transient and ultimately often less than satisfying ... ;)

When he attains it, he has no use for it; it oppresses him .

Waters are receding. 27 out of 60 threads from the 1st page of the forum. A few days ago was like 50 out of 60.
I would also expect similar behavior when the GH3 or the G5 gets out.

Nothing wrong with the current excitement over the E-M5. I'm glad that Oly has released an exciting camera. Once the DPR review is out, there will be even more threads. Eventually, things will die down.

What do you want to talk about? Surely not a topic about the EM5, right? This place is what one makes of it. Lead on. . . ;)

Hi Dave,

I also recently got a GH2 and have been searching the Internet for forums and other conversation about it.

I've only used the camera a little, but am very happy with the image quality. I really want to do some heavy duty video, but I will have upgrade to a more powerful computer first.

Enjoy your new camera. You don't have to own the latest and the greatest to take great pictures.
