Here are several photos from the northern Philippine province of Ilocos during the Lenten break. I stayed most of the time in Pagudpud, a fourth-class municipality on Luzon island. All taken with a 5D Mark II.

Excellent images. You have a great sense of composition.

PS, you said all images were from 5D2, but the last one looks like from D800. Too much skin detail. :P

WOW!
Beatiful shots!

...so busy making excellent images that he has not yet realized that his camera is "out of date."

Kidding, of course. Nice shots!

No Signature.

The first wind turbine shot caught my eye content and composition wise, so I kept on looking at the rest. Great seascapes. I like that slow shutter style. Good camera for it as well.

very beautiful images, but some of them have quite distracting CA (?) in the borders/corners.

Gotta love the portrait, a bit oversharpened to my taste but I still love it!
Amazing :)
Keep them comming!

It's good to be big, but it's bigger to be good.

Absolutely stunning photos! Thanks for sharing!

However, I'm a little confused about your comments for the first shot. You say it was lit by a full moon with exposure details of "F5.6, 7 minutes, ISO 100, 85mm". However, the shot seems to have been taken during the day. Am I missing something?

Thanks again for sharing! Seeing real photos is a welcome change from all of the bickering and complaining that seems to be on the forum recently.

... Without looking overdone, just right. Thanks for sharing!

Just playing of course :)

Basically the light of the full moon was strong enough to get a correctly exposed image after seven minutes with the shutter open.

But my question is, what does the reflected light of the moon do the white balance? Do you take in daylight mode and adjust to suit?

I am not relations with the OP. (;-)

I don't want to sound like I'm criticizing the fabulous pictures the OP posted, but if there was only moonlight, I wouldn't expect to see blue skies. And if the sun had not yet set, an exposure of 7 minutes at f5.6 seems like it would be way over-exposed.

was set to Auto and the camera "saw" the blue night sky, which I think is more pleasing than yellow.

About the brightness of the scene: I used to be an E-3 user and I normally used F4 and eight minutes (the longest usable exposure in that camera) at ISO 100 under the full moon. But I find that with the 5D II, I can get away with a shorter shutter speed, all things being equal.

Finally, one should not be limited by what the eyes can see. We should let the camera "see" for itself; you'd be amazed by what it can see in the night.

About the last shot, my copy of the 100-400mm is so sharp it can cut through steel! =B)

Thanks again.

Are the Beach shots HDR? or did you just use a graduated ND filter? They look great!
