Hi All

I am moving over to digital weddings. This year I have been shooting test weddings with a D30 and a Metz 45cl4 in tandem with a Bronica and the Mtez.

I have come to the conclusion that flash captures much brighter on digital and as you know you cannot risk overexpose at all with digital. Normally I would shoot film with my fill in flash at one, sometimes two, stops down (depending on the conditions). I am finding that one stop down using centre weighted metering on the D30 can overexpose the dress and two stops is just about right (one with film). As for inside the church where I would normally shoot at one to one I am now going one stop down on digital and getting the same results.

Secondly I am getting different results with Evaluative and Centre Weighted metering (D30) again using fill in at one and two stops. I would have thought that the Centre Weighted would have been more accurate (as you meter on the dress for underexposure) but it does seem to lead to more blown highlights than Evaluative.

Could you please:
1. advise if you are coming to the same conclusion regarding fill flash and
2. Which metering do you prefer for good results.

I would appreciate your comments people.
