Hello helpful folks,

I just placed an order with the Sony Store online (while grumbling under my breath) for a NEX-7 kit shipping to Los Angeles. Since, clearly, the order has not shipped yet, I thought I'd ask the forum if anybody has advice on the best method for acquiring the camera+lens whilst still not paying an insane Amazon markup. I've got a vacation coming up in April and I'm a bit desperate to get it soon.

Sony store is telling me my order is "IN PROCESS" with an estimated ship date of 4/17/2012.

Thanks for all the help you've offered me so far with your posts.

If you use a debit card where it blocks you from a purchase if you try to overcharge, then preorder from any and everywhere that it credible, and make sure you only have enough money in your account for one camera.

I had around 6 preorders with various people, then when the B&H preorder shipped, cancelled the rest, no problem.

Yesterday buydig.com had a bunch of kits in. Sold out by end of day, but you might want to keep an eye on them. I ordered my 1DMKIII from them... They are both Canon and Sony dealers.

Well I ordered one from Sony store, one from B&H, and one from Amazon which is being fulfilled by Ritz Camera whenever they manage to get stock. Any other places where I should throw my name into the list?

Fredmiranda.com had a bunch of them for sale. LNIB. NIB. All reasonable with typical PP and shipping added (of course.) A lot of folks took double-delivery and are just trying to break even.

Take a look...
