....and when the 1 year warranty period has expired....that Fujifilm has refused to service/repair/replace an X100 with the "sticky blades" problem that is under warrenty ? If so, that would be something to be concerned about. From everything that I have read about the situation, Fujifilm has honored every return and done their best to make the customer happy.
If and when Fujifilm refuses to fix a camera under warrenty then that would be news worthy and something to be concerned about.
The Q is: Can this lens shutter really be cleaned and lubed today at a resonable cost; or will the whole lens-packet ++ have to be replaced??The fact that there is a problem with leaf shutters is not news. It is a mechanical device that requires close tolerance manufacturing and assembly. Medium format film cameras such as Hasselblad, Mamiya and Bronica have all had problems from time to time, it is pretty much inherent in the basic design. When problems occur they are typically sent in for a CLA (clean, lube adjust) proceedure.
Unlike focal plane shutters a leaf shutter, with time will have a greater chance of needing a good cleaning and lubrication. Its one of the trade offs that you make to have a virtually silient, vibration free camera with a mechanical shutter.

Hopefully this will be accepted as a production fault. Then most of us have a reclamation time in the region of 5-6 yrs.
