The reasons I won't get a D4...

Neither of these is sufficient reason that you won't get a D4. (1) "Won't get" implies a future non-purchase at a time when the D4 may be available. (2) Newer camera bags could certainly be purchased, at a fraction of the cost of your proposed D4.

I'm not planning to get a D4, mainly because the specs are currently only rumors and I don't make decisions on rumors. Secondarily because I just shot my wad on a new tractor and don't currently have the funds readily available. Give me a year and my funding will be in better shape and presumably I'll know the specs by then, and might even have read some user reports. Then I'll make the decision.

My wife is seriously bummed that I spent invested the money in the tractor, so she demands equal time money. So it will take significantly more than a year for my funding to recover......
 
Tell her she can make some extra money doing tractor work for the neighbors!

I'm kidding!!!! Don't!!!!

The D4 WILL be announced in a week on Jan 6th. This is for sure!!! Stay tuned! I wont get the D4 because I already have the D3s.
 
I'm waiting for the D5
 
My D3's are getting a bit long in the tooth. Every Nikon pro body since the F has been a meaningful improvement over the previous generation. I did not like the F4, but I did buy them. I do like the F6, but I did not buy any since I had already moved to digital with the D2x. They are tools and you need to keep up in the digital age.

And they are stupid because you don't like the rumoured specs? At least that is what my five year old nephew says when he does not like something.

And might it not be the one who is dismissing all evidence and who fails accept logic and reason be the one who is making a fool of himself?
