I really like the look of back ground textures, but I think there is a better way of doing it than I’m doing.
What I do is open an image, then open a texture and drag it over on top of the Back Ground Layer. I then make a mask and paint away the portion that’s covering the main image. This can be very time consuming and I'm not that good at it. I’ve seen pictures that look like the main picture was put on top of the back ground texture, which looks so much better. For example: the space between leaves on a tree, etc. I've tried different blending modes, but nothing seems to make that big of a difference.
I would be grateful if someone could help me out on this. (I'm Using PSCS5 on a Mac)
