I am surprised that we aren't seeing many samples out of production Nex 7's.

Surely the pros have production copies by now.

Could it be that Sony does not want to affect sales of the 5n at this time while the Nex 7 is getting into production (again)?

Since they lost the US holiday season with the 7, are they are trying to optimize revenue/sales of the 5n by prohibiting reviewers from posting production Nex 7 images at this time ( Dec. 2, 2011 )?

If so, I guess I can't blame theme.

I heard that there was a homeland security alert on the nex 7 and sony pulled it to comply with the US per their common treaties on terrorism.

I heard that underground evacuation bunkers are being filled with VIPs from around the world before a massive asteroid hits the planet just after Christmas. The floods in Thailand were caused by a disruption in the planet's gravitational field caused by the interaction between this asteroid and nearby planets and the moon setting off a sub-space harmonic wave that resonated perfectly with storm clouds over Asia leading to massive flooding.

What NEX-7 production that did make it out from the plant in Thailand has been appropriated by the United Nations who are assigning one camera and a pancake 16mm lens to the VIP bunker denizens because the NEX-7 really is end-of-the-world good.

It's Nancy Pelosi's fault. I don't know why but I'm sure it's true. That darned Pelosi.

Don't think so - because ( IMO) the 5N is so much better then the 7 in most of the parameters, (price!!! high ISO , removable VF etc...) so people will always continue to buy lots the 5N's - and more then the 7's when those will be available.

On a more serious note, it has now been two weeks since the first "bi-weekly" Sony Store NEX-7 status message. Last time, they said they would probably have a clearer idea of the details by now. I have not yet received today's update. Has anyone else?

Nex-5 with kit lenses, Contax G 35, and a number of legacy lenses (mostly Canon FD)

In Paris - by sort of miracle there were 3 Nex 7 available like more then a month (or two?) ago, of course they were gone like fire, now all the sellers here promise that the 7 will be available again no latter then the middle of March 2012 - lets hope.... Any way I am not waiting for the 7 - I prefer the 5N - already bought one and I am VERY Happy with it.

The GOP won't let Obama buy one.
Newt ate his.
Cain doesn't know what they are.
Romney can't decide if he likes the 7 or the 5.
Paul exchanged his for some gold.
Perry thought they were Nikons.
Bachmann says they are really from Kenya.
Huntsman has one on order, but the others say that is just like Obama.

I do not think there is 1.0 firmware yet.

I hope sony used every day they gained form the production outage to make the firmware nicer.

The early one was ok from stability but lacked some of the options found on A700 e.g. ISO is only working on full stops not 1/3 or 1/2 as A700 can. Buttons are customizable, there is white balance shift but some other custom options from A700 are missing e.g. no way to store ready shooting profiles (A700 allows 3). Many other small things are missing form the early firmware I hope they find room in the production model.

I can not understand how a removable VF is "so much better". Specially if you start saying that price is another problem (NEX5N + VF are about the same price as the NEX7)

...and Obama apologized for the U.S. not buying more Sony products so he asked for a bail out from Congress to help Sony with the floods which he blamed for his poor unemployment numbers and said that if the Republicans had only voted for his tax increases to help Sony everything would be fine.....

Come on, this is a photography site...keep your politics out of it.
