that sounds like a good combo, i am getting my LA-EA2 in korea next week while on vacation there.
I'm planning to get a Sigma 50mm 1.4 HSM but might have to resort to the sony version SAL50F14 instead because HSM lens might not be compatible with the adaptor...
I have the EA2 and 35mm 1.8 SAM. It's very sharp and focusses quickly. The only slight issue for me is that the EA2 has a square base and I don't like cradling it in my left hand. Otherwise, its a good combo for existing light shots and shallow DOF. I also have the E-mount 30mm macro lens. Both are very sharp and I tend to have the 30mm mounted most of the time because it is very light. I use the EA2 and 1.8 SAM when it gets dark or I am shooting people and want to isolate the subject.
Here is a shot at dusk on the EA2/35mm 1.8. Its a ISO1600 and was already dark. The PDAF worked fine even in that light.
Here's a daytime shot at F1.8, which shows the shallow DOF. It's focussed on the frontmost flower in the center and the fence just behind is already blur
I have read elsewhere that use of this lens adapter in video mode forces the lens to be wide open all the time. Can you confirm or disconfirm this please?
The update to that is, I kept the sal 35mm 1.8, but sold the laea2. The af speed was good, but over the course of a few weeks the balance of the cam with that adapter didn't work for me. I use the 35 with a cheap mf adapter that is thin and light. That combo makes me happier. I'm sure others will have different opinions.
