River and Photoshop

What gets me outdoors taking photos? Grey skies and rain – lots of rain! When I had some spare time after a meeting today I navigated my way down to the river in between rain showers to take this photo for you all.

A tutorial will be on the blog a little later to show you how I got to this stage.

It looks like it could be a nice shot but is a little dark. I also very much dislike the current fad of smoothed out water as the natural texture is much more interesting to me, but that is my personal taste and evidently, as much as this effect is used, it may not be in the majority.

I was debating with myself how to shoot this stream. I went for this look due to the light not being the greatest. The sky was almost black. So I decided to put on a ND filter and see what I would get.

I'll make my next stream or river shot more natural I think. Thanks for the feedback.
