It a hit and miss thing. I ordered a kit consisting of a charger and 2 batteries for my from Amazon. The brand name was Wasabi from Blue Nook. The 5N was listed as one of the cameras that this battery was compatible with. Upon receipt, I found that one battery was difficult to extract after inserting into my 5N. I had to use a screwdriver to extract it. The second battery was OK as far as the fit was concerned. However, upon charging the second batter and inserting, the display stated that the battery was incompatible with the 5N and camera display turned off. Because of the problem with both the poor fit on one battery and the fact that the batteries were not compatible with the 5N, I returned the entire package to Amazon for a refund.
I called Blue Nook and explained the problem. I still had not discovered the fact that the 2nd battery did not work when I called them and only explained the poor fit problem with the 1st battery. They were kind enough to send me a replacement battery for the one that had the poor fit problem. I received it today and it not only fits but is works with the 5N.
My suggestion for a replacement battery is to either purchase the Wasabi Kit for the 5N from Amazon or directly from Blue Nook. If it doesn't work out , both companies have excellent return policies.
