OnOne Perfect Photo Suite 6

Install "Little Snitch" and monitor what it's doing.
Depends on what you mean by "inappropriately". Most software today do a check on startup to see if there are "updates" available. In general, this is a good thing.
I’ve never run the program that caused the warning. It’s a plug-in for Lightroom, and I don’t even have Lightroom installed.

I agree that checking for updates isn’t inappropriate, but that doesn’t trigger firewall warnings because it’s performed using standard ports and protocols. There’s no telling what Perfect Layers was attempting to do, or why.

Only my opinion. It's worth what you paid for it. Your mileage may vary! ;-}

I have had no issues with speed in any of the modules. Then again, I custom build my PCs to do what I want them to do. If you look at the processor load you will see this suite is processor intensive more than RAM intensive. Always good to have the best of both. I have noticed a snappier feel the the new suite using 16 bit files.

My bigger concern is the Perfect Portrait's idea of what skin colors should be from it's face recognition. I need to spend some more time with it.

No luck here. Just purchased Suite 6. Tried to resize a large panorama from LR and it says file to large. When I try to resize from freestanding program it gives me error ans say must have at least 4 pixels on each side.
This is a tiff file 39,900 x 5627 and is 1.18 GB
Does not seem to like large files. I think Suite 6 is not ready for prime time.
