I'd like to see some sample pics of 420Ex alone and with the softbox, i'm considering buying the two. examples with people subjects would be prefered. Wondering if this might eliminate the "i'm seeing blue dots" after i blind them with flash as well? (just a added bonus i suppose)

Not one response. pretty sad.

Well i went and ordered the stuff anyways, so if anyone is interested i'll likely post some examples myself with a) d30 flash b) 420ex flash c) 420ex with lumiquest softbox

may as well contribute even if no one is interested

I don't think you should conclude that no one is interested. There
are probably not a lot of people that have the combination of
  • a D30
  • a 420ex
  • a lumiquest softbox
  • sample pictures taken with and without the softbox
  • time/ability to post them
I'm in the market for such a softbox, so I hope you will post your
findings!

John.

I have this combination, but I have it loaned out at this time. I can tell you from experience that the Lumiquest soft box is worth having for the price. It works fairly well, but is no substitute for an umbrella or a real soft box.

Greg

I use the 420EX with a lumiquest and like the results, softer shadows , more control over hotspots, however I don't have any test shots for you. I've either used it or I haven't. I haven't got one online at the moment.
