Hello,

Coming back from another cruise in Mediterranean see. I decided to show just 50 pics out of 500+. The best ? Maybe but those I prefer.

Still happy with my D200 and for the first time I took my Nikkor 28-200 VR and no F2.8 lens. It's much more easy for traveling and walking around and after all and a bit of PP, I'm quite happy with the result.
Have a look, thanks

Excellent results! A good reminder that the 'right equipment' is the gear that suits your intended application, not necessarily the latest and greatest. What I see on your site are interesting, well composed and exposed, sharp contrasty images that make me want to visit those places.

18-200 ... sorry

I also went on a cruise and only used the Nikon 18-200 lens. Your photos brought back many memories. I do not understand why so many people give this lens a bad wrap! It worked for me and obviously for you too. Maybe it doesn't cost enough to be considered a excellent lens! Say what they may I enjoy having only one lens to worry about.

Agree. Nevertheless I observe some softness at 200mm especially in the corners and distortion close to 18. This last point is easy to control with some PP while the softness isn't

Thanks for your comments.

Next issue is in just 5 or 6 weeks after a trip to Acores Islands (San Miguel, Pico and Faïal.
Any tips for this destination ?
See you.

Great photos. Obviously you have good skills, but can you share how you get such good colors ? They look perfectly balanced and calibrated, beautiful.

These photos are a perefct answer to everyone that needs the latest and greatest. For this type of shooting, travel vacation in good daylight, the D-200 and 18-200 is a great combo. I still use this combo but tend to leave it home for the larger, heavier, bulkier D-700 and f 2.8 glass, maybe this is a wake up for me to take the D-200 and 18-200 next time.

Care to share your post processing? Color is great but then again, that is one of the D-200 .

Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thank you.

No rocket science. First of all, as you wrote, it's a D200 ! I shot RAW and because I use Lightroom and not NX, I'm "loosing" any setting I could record in the camera except the WB which is by default on Direct Sunshine.
I'm using a standard landscape LR template I built when I began with LR.
Here it is :

Starting this basic adjustment, every picture or serie of pictures receives an appropriate PP

I'm playing a lot with TSI function for giving more texture in the skies when not completely clear.
Hope it helps.
