flash for 995

could somone please give me some comments for choosing flash light for my 995? i know 995 is not supporting ttl, so, it seems a bit wasting for buying dx28 or 50 etc... Any other flash lights are recommended?

you are right, since it doesn't take advantage of them. Lots of folks like the Sunpak 4000 and 5000. They are rather large, but do work well.
you will need the Nikon bracket

Hello, Veron:

Christopher is right, the CP995 doesn't do true TTL but it still takes excellent flash pictures. I set the Camera to Auto mode, my flash to TTL and get great shots. As for a bracket, you may not like the Nikon bracket too much. It holds the flash beside the camera which throws ugly shadows to the side of your subject. You will get much better results with a bracket that puts the flash directly above the lens. I use a Rollbar and and SB 28. A great combination. The Sunpaks are also very effective at a much lower price. Go here for comparison of whats available according to many on this forum.

$100-$150 for the two I mentioned depending upon where you get them.

The SB50DX can be had for about $160 at several places online so it wouldn't be that much more. It's only problem is using CR123 batteries instead of "AA" and that can get expensive, but you would then have a Nikon DX flash that would be completely usable on a DSL, if you decided to upgrade. The rollbar bracket is good as is the Stroboframe. Youwill have to buy the Nikon cable and shoe though to get this combo to work even if you don't get the bracket.
