Hello!

I thought i'd share this tip with you. I havent seen this trick here before, but I could have missed it.

I created a new rubber / silicone thingie for my E-1 grip. I damaged mine a little when opening the camera to fix the card door latch.

Sure I could have glued the old one (I saved it) or have created a new one in black.

But I like colorful items, so just because I can:

It looks in reality better than in the picture.

I used a product called 'sugru' , it comes in all kinds of colors, and it is not difficult to create the grip thingies. I think it may be a bit less grippy than the e-1 original, but much more grippy than the one on the e-30 or e-520.

Maybe I should have picked a more conventional color... I think green would be nice too.

Anyway, the orange on the lens hood, is utterly useless. But I thought it looked cool, and this lens never leaves this camera anyway.

To keep my brain active I'm trying to learn CS3 and Lightroom 2 , only to get more confused, because I don't read the manuals.

Love it....I might try this for my E-30!!!

Hi

well, honestly I expected torches and pitchforks. How I could violate my E-1 in such a horrid way.

But the thing is, with many... well ... lets call it collections. People care and treasure the items they collect, but with many collections with usable items, they have a 'rat' one. The one that they use on a daily basis, not keeping it clean or protected, but works perfectly well anyway. A guitarist with a worn old guitar to play at a campfire, an oldtimer collector with a beatup pickup to get spare parts...

Well I have perfectly fine E-30 and an X100 for walkaroud camera. But this E-1 is my 'rat' camera. It goes everywhere where I would not risk damage to my other camera's. So about this e-1... the uglier the better... orange instead of black or dark grey or blue... It is recognisable, and mine :)
