For 17-19 June 2011.

The world always looks a little different in shades of gray - or of sepia, or of platinum, or of ... , ... .

Post a monochrome or two, taken any time, with any camera, of any subject, processed any way you like. Please post your pictures as a response to this opening message. Feel free to comment - or not - on any of the posts.

How does the world look to you?

Nice one for compositiona.

May I suggest you to try add a little ND filter effect (lowering exposure by almost 1 stop)on the sky side upper right and bring up a little the fill light slider on the whole image.

Was at the Franconia sculpture garden on Monday. One of the interesting sculptures was Evening by John Payne - basically a black box with vertical slats. I wish it was close enough to go regularly - I loved the light and texture of the walls. Here are a few picts I took:

Was driving past this JB's restaurant about a week ago and shocked to see it closed. About 500 feet south of this corner is a huge mobile home park which is mostly populated by senior citizens. This was one of their places to eat. I decided I will start recording places that have gone out of business in monochrome and to keep a photographic record. After I took the image, I went to the AZ Republic (newspaper) website and found out the parent company in big time bankruptcy.

E510 and 25mm pancake lens. Shot with monochrome mode from camera. Contrast and some other things slightly tweaked in CS4.

It's great to see you back and I hope all is well. Since you vanished I've been over at a Canon forum for my sp fix. It's kind of a shame that the thread here dried up last year, which is when I started this monochrome thread.

I really like your soft and frosty street portrait. Thanks for posting!
Taken in May, and yes, it was that cold in NYC.
