Just got the HX100V, first shots

Hey folks, just got the camera today and took it outside for some quick test shots. I used the default settings and used no pp. Some shots were taken with background defocus, others were just straight macro.

So far I like it a lot, my previous camera was a panasonic lumix zs3. The focusing is a little more intuitive on the lumix, but the output quality on the hx100v seems a lot nicer. Can't wait to get more familiar with the camera...going to use it during our cruise to Alaska next week.

Nice group for your first shots. You'll have a great time on an Alaskan cruise with this camera and its long lens. Better take plenty of battery and memory-card capacity.

Thanks Steve! And you're absolutely right - ordered a 32 gig class 10 sd card and an extra battery - definitely do not want to run out of space or power with all those photo and video opportunities. Cheers!
