I would like to know if anyone has any experience with attaching a kaleidoscope to a macro lens. I’d really like to experiment with that idea. I saw a terrific kaleidoscope that uses polarized light to get some amazing subtle colors. I shoot with a Canon 5D and a 5D mkII. I have a Canon 100mm 1:2.8 Macro lens that takes a 58mm filter. I also have a Sigma 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 HF Macro and a Tamron SP XR Di 28-75mm Macro lens. Any suggestions on how to connect the lens to the kaleidoscope and lighting considerations. I wrote to the maker of the kaleidoscope and I’m waiting for a response as to a custom made scope. Thanks in advance for your advice.

You could send the manufacturer a filter in the size of the filter thread on the lens and see if they can make the kaleidoscope to fit that thread. Then you would just attach it to the lens the way you would a filter. Or maybe they could even use the filter for the bottom. I don't know a lot about optics though so I have no idea if that would work.

Or you could maybe glue the kaleidoscope to a fliter and then attach it to the lens.

Thanks for the idea. I wonder if the glue idea to filter threads might work. I recieved an answer today from the KALEIDOSCOPE maker and remain as unclear as before. He sent a phone # so I might give that a try. Ideas welcome.
