Hi all

Just recently brought my new 7D, I have taken pictures in raw format and when I try to transfer the pictures from zoombrowser into photoshop it does not recognise the document, it says can not open because it is not the right kind of document, I have tried all formats without any joy.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Richard

What version of Photoshop are you using?

I'm guessing you need to update your Adobe Camera Raw package.

Sorry no luck for you.

You will have to buy a new version of Photoshop or use Adobe DNG converter or one of the other RAW converters out there.

You must have Elements 7, here is a link to an Adobe update which you need for the 7D CR2 files. It shows that it is an update for Elements 8, but it has been reported to work in other forums as an update that works for Elements 7 also.

According to Adobe's website, Photoshop7 only supports ACR version 1. Hopefully I'm wrong but I don't think your 7D and ACR are going to work in PS7. Anyway, here is the link where I looked. Good luck.

Look about half way down the page.

If you have an outdated version of Photoshop/ACR, and don't wish to upgrade, or spend additional funds; your best bet is to use the RAW converter in Canon DPP, and Save the image as a .Tif.

Open the image in Photoshop for further editing.

If your version of Photoshop is pror to supporting Layerd .tifs, convert the image to a .psd, to utilize Layer functions in Photoshop.
