After my initial shooting session with the HX9V, I tried to transfer the photos and videos to PMB on the computer (laptop) via the Sony MS reader. I had no problem importing the photos, but PMB wouldn't recognize the videos. I put the MS (PRO-HG Duo) back into the camera and connected the camera to the computer via the supplied USB cable, but PMB still wouldn't recognize the videos. I got a message that I needed to "register" the camera with PMB first by creating a USB connection, but that didn't seem to work. I was only able to import the videos via "Control Panel -> All Control Panel Items -> Devices and Printers -> DSC-HX9V."

How can I import videos to PMB using the Sony MS reader? I don't want to have to use the USB cable every time I want to transfer videos to the computer. Is it possible that the problem is that I already had PMB installed on the computer (I also have the H20 and TX5) and didn't use the CD-ROM that came with the HX9V? Since I already had the latest version of PMB installed, I didn't think I needed to use the CD-ROM.

If you installed PMB before and did not "enable" AVCHD function then you have to do that by connecting to a "capable" camera. It has to verify that the camera has such capability.

OK, but the MP4 videos couldn't be imported to PMB either. I'll try the CD-ROM tomorrow and see what happens.

So, after installing PMB (the same version the computer already had) via the CD-ROM and connecting the camera to the computer, I was able to import the videos.
