Being a proud (and satisfied!) X1 owner since end of last year I bought the Leica optical viewfinder (18707) a couple of days ago. My first impression is very positive: It's crisp and clear and makes composing much easier - not only in bright sunshine. Even if the X1 had a more advanced 460K LCD it would be a very useful accessory. So I guess I will leave it attached most of the time. The only disadvantage (besides adding some addtl size) is that I have to take off my glasses in order to grasp the entire frame. So far, I think it was a good decision. We'll see.
