Took a few photos on the weekend at a fashion show with the A55 and the Minolta 135mm 2.8 lens, no flash, JPEG straight from the camera. Positionned myself about 15 feet from the end of the catwalk, nearly in front and had a clear view. Used the Sports mode for a fast shutter speed with continuous advance at 6 frames per second. The camera performed well but got the dreaded heat warning a few times so rested the camera when the men were on stage. Here are a few examples:

LOL. You took the words right out of my mouth, FlyNavy. That looks like my kind of "fashion show"

Just for fun!

Did you shoot any video?

I didn't know that just shooting pictures could cause the A55 to over heat. That has me worried because I often shoot a ton of images and a little video at my kids recitals and theater productions.

Great shots! Really like the colour from Minolta 135/2.8 and there is no CA problem at all.

No videos were taken but I used extensively the continuous advance mode at 6 frames per second during the 30 minute fashion show so that was likely the reason for the overheat warning I got a few times.

Thanks. Really like my nearly 20 year old Minolta 135mm 2.8 lens, which gives me approx 200mm at 2.8. Had the lens checked and cleaned recently for the first time. Looking forward to many more outings with this lens.

If even, because I don't see any nudity here.
Visiting our newssites could just be as "dangerous". ;)

Why sports mode and 6 fps? This is not high speed sport.

That's one good thing about overheating, we don't want to see men dressed like this :)

The first one is a really nice shoot. The minolta 135mm f2.8 is a gem.

At those shutter speeds, you probably could have turned off SteadyShot in the Menu. Doing so would have kept the sensor cooler.
