hi all,

here are a few more shots from my trip to japan. a couple might look like they are from my previous post, but they have been reprocessed.

all shots are with my k7, 15/4, 50/1.4M (an acquisition during the trip) or 70/2.4.

i didn't use a camera bag during the trip. i had a spare battery in a trouser pocket, and a lens in either coat pocket. camera around my neck. i really liked the ease at which i could get to the lenses and the lack of bulk.

c&c appreciated, as always.

thanks for looking!

Are so very good images, nice location :D

Alan.

I really like both of these. The light and color in #6 are great, and you captured the sun perfectly in #8.
thanks! i was lucky in #6 that i was staying in the right place at the right time. that was pretty much outside my window after i woke up. no travelling needed, and i could take it from just outside my window...

in #8 tipped the white balance quite a bit to the yellow side to warm things up a bit.

it is indeed a very picturesque location. a great place to go with a camera because it's so beautful, and also safe, so you don't feel like you have to be discreet with expensive gear.

the second one is amazing!!!
due to the drawing of M50/1.4 (I guess right??)

I have this lens. and it's marvellous (if only it would be auto-f, mmmmmmmmmmmm )
nice try, but actually it's the 15/4! i like that the wide perspective allows you to sample a lot of the background, which can sometimes lead to a variety of colours being picked up.

but i agree, the 50/1.4 can get quite hard-edged and crazy wide open, and it smooths up stopped down a notch. i wish it had a circular aperture, at least at f/2, but it's a great lens. i wasn't expecting it to be as sharp as it is wide-open.

Expensive gear get you, LOL :D

Very nice photos. My pick would have to be 1, 6, 7 & 8. I find them really nice as they are and perhaps with a little PP work can turn into something more unique if that's your thing . :)

Well done, thanks for sharing. :)

thanks Bill. it means a lot to me, especially since i'm a fan of your work.

i like to be a bit edgy and unique, but only on my own projects. for holiday trips for memories, i prefer to keep things a bit more faithfully represented.
