hi all,

just wan to ask do u guy use bounce card on ur flash? what kind of bounce card u guy use? would like to know more about bounce card..

thanks.

There are situations when a bounce card is usefull
and situations where it is useless.

Some flashes have a built in "pull out" bounce card.
  • If your flash has a built in bounce card, have you tried it?
  • Have you read the manual regarding it's use?
A business card and a piece of tape or rubber band can be an effective bounce card

A bounce card is generally NOT used to try making "softer light". as it's size is generally not much different than the size of the flash surface.

A bounce card is often used to kick some of the flash forward, while another component of the flash is allowed to fire away from the subject, and then bounce off a celing or wall and then back to the subject. Generally not useful for more than one or two subjects...NOT useful for large groups,

Knowing when and how to use a bounce card is just one of many aspects of flash photography you can't master online...you must go out and experiment

A small bounce card is near essential.. pullout bounce card size. Beginners usually assume more is better, but the frontal light from a large card just swamps the bounce, making the bounce be pointless. You definitely want to see the effect and shadows from the bounce, else why do it? A small card (maybe 2x1.5 inches above the flash head) gives good catch lights in the eyes, and give slight frontal fill.
