Hello all,

I need a very thin high quality paper. I want to paste some of my shots into my Moleskine journal and thickness can become a problem. I use Epson printers - currently the Artisan 700 and the Workforce 40. I also have the original picturemate deluxe, so I use both pigment and dye inks. I have all the Epson papers and quite a few 3rd party ones (Red River, Costco), but haven't found one that is thin enough while producing a quality print. Would a vinyl-based paper be a solution?

I'm hoping to find a magazine-weight stock or similar. It can be matte or gloss.

Not that it matters, but I print with QImage....

Thanks and Happy New Year to all!

Epson Singleweight Matte is 5mil (120gsm) thick which is 1/2 the thickness of their normal papers. it's got the feel of 20lb laser copy paper.

the RedRiver 26lb ColorJet paper is also 5mil thick (97gsm)

There are plenty of lightweight papers suitable for your purpose, with all sorts of surfaces.

Thanks for the response - I have always focused on the heavierweight papers. I will request samples or order packages. The epson is not avail in 8 1/2 X 11 so I will take a look at the redriver stock first and go from there.

I appreciate the response from both of you.

There's also a thinner one called High Quality Inkjet Paper (S041111, 4.7 mil, 24 lb):

I think the Epson might have a different name (they are always messing things up w/ name changes). It might be Presentation Matte now..........

WHY do they do that?? It is really bad when the description in the printer driver doesn't agree with the name of the product on the package!! It must be a rite of passage for every new Epson Paper Product Manager. It makes me a little crazy. I used to keep a chart....

Thanks - I'll get some.
