Tried several kinds of blur to repair the skin on this 1920s portrait, but nothing worked without removing all definition. Also tried using the magnetic lasso and working only on the crackled area, but it still didn't work. Anyone have any wonderful ideas? :)

Great work pixel. I know the OP did not ask for a colour fix but the green cast is not very flattering. Monelle Black and White or Sepia would would be far better.

I did think about making it black and white but decided against it because I don't know why it is green.

I'm thinking to work on my photoshop skills this winter, so I made a stab at this one. I'm surely not an artist of any kind! And with more care and time I could do better; but I'd appreciate critique from anyone.

You're an artist. That sure looks wonderful! Very impressive.
