GH2, good to very good at ISO3200!

Even the crops look quite clean without excessive NR, stunningly good for such a tiny (by DSLRs standard) 16 Mp sensor.

Thanks for your spotting.

Impressive performance. Very usable up to 1600, little loss of detail at 3200. Still pretty decent at 6400, but banding in shadow areas. 12800 not so useful.

And remember: it's now 16MP, so one can downsample a little bit in comparison to the GH1. That means at the same printin/viewing size it should be less noisy (maybe that's some of the effect we're seeing in these samples).

Cant say for certain due to size but shadows of ISO6400 look like its banding, 12800 is their for real emergency. The intermediate settings between 3200 and 6400 may be very useable though, the 3200 looks outstanding though, but need to see full size.

thats unbelievable.

i actually dont believe it, that is such a step up in quality for MFT i dont think it can be authentic.

Is the source reliable?

i think he is genuine and is doing a review maybe, he had an early 0.2 camera which he posted similar images, but these look much much better than 0.2, upto 3200 we dont seem to lose any colour in the red, nice!

Lets hope so mate!!

i sold my GH1 to get a GH2 when its released. I hope it lives up to the hype. The slightly higher bit rate video looks stunning too.

Can someone post the pictures here? Because after ten minutes nothing is on screen yet. I am eager to see them! Thanks in advance.

That's what I was thinking. Could this possibly be true?

I mean, if it's that much better, I don't even wait for the price to come down, I just buy the thing now at full MSRP.

Never mind ISO 3200, the level of detail in the JPEGs at ISO 12800 is quite impressive really. This to me is a 1.5 to 2 stop improvement.

Need to be careful to not get ahead of myself though, until some real tests are done. It's all pointing toward being very positive though.

With LightRoom or Topaz DeNoise5, I could clean that ISO12800 shot up nicely and still leave lots of detail.

Every day I like this camera more and I don't even own one yet.

And indeed, like someone has said: one wonders about ISO 4000/5000.

Until some labtests have been done, I will repeat myself probably over and over again. We have to see how this ISO 3200 compars to the ISO 3200 of the GH1.

So it might be very true.

Looks very good, astonishing how low the in-camera-NR is, at least for Panasonic-standards, although this may not be the final firmware.

ISO 6400 seems to be very usable and if Lightroom3 will kill banding as good as it does with the GH1 even ISO12800 may be quite usable.

Certainly a good improvement over the GH1, not even to talk about the other µ4/3-cameras.
