Hello everyone,

I am a brand-new user of the 60D, after many years with a non-dSLR SONY H1. I took a lot of nice pics with it, but it was time for an upgrade. I found the camera + the 18-135 lens on Newegg along with an external hard drive. UPS was tremendously fast with the delivery as I was not expecting it until Monday.

I was able to get the strap attached (not as easy as it sounds!) and fired off a few quick shots of my cat Lucy.

Here is the best one. I had the camera in one of the auto modes. I have a lot of reading, experimenting, and learning to do.

This site has been tremendously useful so far, as I was trying to make my decision.

Nice to meet you all,

Holly

Just the on camera flash. This was literally me opening the box, figuring out how to attach the lens and turn it on.

I think it may have been the macro mode. I was not even sure which filetype would come out, but I see it was JPG.

Too bad most of the leaves are down around here. I may be able to get some Halloween costumes this weekend however.

new 60D user - at last ... got it only $919...

this cam is awesome... the grip is much better than the D80, D90, D700. I can control the cam without taking my eye off the view finder.

some pics...

i really like the ergonomics of this cam. I've memorized the buttons and all.

well the pics- they are great!

some pics ...

Seems like a good camera so congratulations. Would you take street photography with live view using the LCD or is it too slow?

QUICK VIEW(one of 3 LV options) is pretty fast. I use it for street photography - and using articulating screen makes a huge difference as people don't know you're shooting when looking down at screen.

You should check out quick view AF (and the entire 60D in general) in a store to see if if will fit your needs - do not take my word for it.
Thanks, that is what I wanted to know.
