Nice, clear pictures.Spotted those this morning. The branchlets were all covered with tiny ice pearls. If you take a closer look you'll see microscopic gas bubbles trapped inside the pearls.

As a comparison we're paying $7/gallon around here in Sweden. Enjoy your price while it lasts and perhaps read up on economy driving?BTW: Do you know what kind of gas is trapped in there? I'm paying $2.85/gallon now. Maybe we could find a way to squeeze some out.)
I'm with you there. My ride is a economical 2003 Corolla and I don't drive unnecessarily. There were seven children in our family and we were brought up with the idea "waste not, want not". It is a good policy. As a comparison we're paying $7/gallon around here in Sweden. Enjoy your price while it lasts and perhaps read up on economy driving?
Thanks for the nice words.Ok, these are really nice, almost perfect; this horrible NR that kills everything in other’s poster’s pictures of the F300exr is totally absent…
As I see in the EXIF info they are ISO 200, so tell us the secret did you apply any NR software on them inside the GIMP, and finally what was the camera’s setup…
P-mode, ISO Auto(400), macro, M size, DR200, forced flash. If I recall correctly.what was the camera’s setup…
Here you go. The original for one of the pics in this thread. Please post some more with the specific setup, I was thinking that many users are pressing the camera too much (DR400% maybe – high resolution) and that’s why all these terrible pictures…
Yours are totally different.
I would appreciate very much (and many others too), if you could post some originals without any pp…
Mike,I would appreciate very much (and many others too), if you could post some originals without any pp…
Thanks in advance - mike
Hey, i'm new here.Since I know what the camera pukes on I could provoke a few bad ones, like high ISO indoor or low contrast foilage. The example below shows what I refer to as "foam rubber" european spruce. I shot this one to send to Fujifilm when they asked for an illustration of what I meant by NR smearing:
NR = noise reductioni've done a quick search but haven't been able to determine what "NR" is (in reference to "NR smearing"?
For an ISO explanaition:i've been taking some test shot (i've also just recently bought an F300EXR) and they all look fuzzy-ish, sometimes the camera focuses and sometimes not. admittedly, we've not had good weather lately and i was trying high-ISO settings indoors (which you mention is bad...? i must have heard as akid something about higher ISO which my mind translated to a general "this is better"... clearly i was mistaken)
The ice images were all hand-held (actually leaning forward into the bush from a stair).and i'm curious to know, stefan, did you use a tripod or shutter trigger for your ice images (or images in general)?
you guys will see me around a bit more on the forums as i learn how to use a camera...!
